Dedicated to the history and doctrines of the Waldenses

Who are the Waldenses?

The Waldenses or the Waldensians, originally known as the Poor Men of Lyon, are adherents of what began as an ascetic movement within the Catholic Church, later considered as a pre-Reformation, proto-Protestant tradition. Unlike other currents, the Waldensian tradition was initially not contrary to Catholic Christianity as it was, to some extent, part of the mendicant movement at that time, which makes them unique within the so-called Reformed tradition. This wiki intends to discern, discuss, and analyze the doctrines of the Poor Men of Lyon based on historical records and academic sources which are currently available, primarily the noble lesson.
